Dayanand Chandrashekhar Shetty (born 11 December 1969) is an Indian film and television actor and model, best known for his role as Senior Inspector Daya in India's longest-running television police procedural, CID.
Dayanand started his career as a sportsmen and used to play shot put and discus throw, and won many prizes for it. But, due to a leg injury, he left the sports and joined modelling. In 2002, he was voted as the best looking guy by Indian Television.
