Dayanand Chandrashekhar Shetty (born 11 December 1969) is an Indian film and television actor and model, best known for his role as Senior Inspector Daya in India's longest-running television police procedural, CID. He was inducted into the Gold Awards Hall of Fame in 2018. Career. Shetty is a sportsman-turned-actor due to a leg injury. Dayanand Shetty (Shetty) is an Indian TV and film actor born on December 11th, 1969 in Katapadi, Karnataka (India). He is mostly known for playing senior Inspector in famous TV series C.I.D (1998Present) and made his Hindi film debut with Johnny Gaddaar (2007) and some other films like Runway (2009), Singham Returns (2014). He also appeared in TV reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (season 4). He also won Gold Award for best supporting actor C.I.D (2012).
