Randhir Raj Kapoor (born 15 February 1947) is a retired Indian actor, film producer and director who worked in Hindi cinema. He was an established actor of the 1970s and received two Filmfare Award nominations and was one of the popular actors of the 1970s. However, his career declined in the early 1980s, following which he rarely appeared in films.
Randhir Kapoor was in a courtship of about 6-7 years with Babita Kapoor, before getting married to her. His family was against this marriage as Babita was an actress and his family did not want any actress to be their daughter-in-law. But Randhir Kapoor managed to convince them. Notably, Babita left acting after marriage.
Randhir’s father, Raj Kapoor, was an Indian actor and filmmaker who died in 1988, and his mother, Krishna Kapoor, was a homemaker who died in 2018. He has two sisters, Reema Jain, and Ritu Nanda (deceased), and two brothers, Rajiv Kapoor an Indian actor and filmmaker who died on 9 February 2021 of a heart attack, and Rishi Kapoor , an Indian actor and filmmaker who died on 30 April 2020 after suffering from leukemia.
