Édesapja Téri Árpád színész, rendező, édesanyja Hotti Éva színésznő volt. 1965-ig Debrecenben élt. 1967–1971 között a budapesti Kaffka Margit Gimnázium diákja volt. A Színház- és Filmművészeti Főiskola elvégzése (1971–1975) után 1975–1979 között a Nemzeti Színház , majd a szolnoki Szigligeti Színház tagja volt.
