She participated in several musical films as Goldwyn Girl with RKO under the name Virginia Reed, before moving to MGM and changing her name to Lynn Carver. She is best known for her role as Alice Raymond in the Doctor Kildare film series, and she starred as Barbara in the musical film Maytime (1937) .
