Frank Künster wurde 1966 in Lahr / Schwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg geboren. Er wuchs in Herzhausen (Dautphetal) auf. Das Abitur bestand er 1988 am Gymnasium Schloss Wittgenstein in Bad Laasphe. Anschließend absolvierte er den Grundwehrdienst in Neustadt-Hessen . Im November 1989 zog er nach Berlin.

MAGNETFILM. BERLIN BOUNCER tells the story of Berlin from a divided city to the party metropolis of today through the eyes of its most legendary doormen. Frank Künster came in the 1980s to study in Berlin while Smiley Baldwin was still guarding the wall as an American GI. Behind the wall lived Sven Marquardt, a young punk and photographer.

Berlin bouncer Frank Künster was staying at BURSA during the premiere of the documentary film “Berlin bouncer” at Intro festival. We had a small talk with him on his work, the road trip to Novosibirsk, and Chornobyl. On Kyiv: I have only been to “Kanapa” in Kyiv. People from the Intro festival invited me there.
