Kokuten Kōdō (高堂 国典, Kōdō Kokuten, 29 January 1887 – 22 January 1960), real name Tanigawa Saichirō (谷川 佐市郎), was a Japanese film actor. He appeared in more than eighty films from 1923 to 1959.
Kokuten Kôdô was born on 29 January 1887 in Takasago, Hyogo, Japan. He was an actor, known for Seven Samurai (1954), Godzilla (1954) and The Hidden Fortress (1958). He died on 22 January 1960.

Early life
Born January 29, 1887 (Meiji 20) in Takasago City , Hyogo Prefecture . Kwansei Gakuin Junior High after dropping out 1901 (1901) new school of Masao Murata goes into the disciple, Osaka Yokoi seat around the country in a barnstorming after stepping on debut in. After joining the contemporary drama club of Teikoku Kinema Kosaka Photo Studio in 1923 (Taisho 12) , he began working as a movie actor in earnest, appearing in works such as "The Curse Ship," "Revenge Demon," and "Stars Fly Disturbed....
At the studio, he was called "Kokuten-san," but according to Yoshio Tsuchiya , he shouted "Kuni Nori!" Every time he was called. Tsuchiya said that he had been asked by Takado to "adopt him", and when Tsuchiya, who was in trouble , consulted with Akira Kurosawa, he said, "I have killed my important son in the war and asked Tsuchiya for his appearan...
