Dipankar De was born on Wednesday, 5 July 1944 (age 79 years; as of 2023) in Jamshedpur, Bihar Province (now Jharkhand), British India. He grew up in Kolkata and his zodiac sign is Cancer. He did his schooling from St. Xaviers School in Kolkata. He did his Honours in Economics and Master of Arts from Presidency University, Kolkata.
Dipankar’s father was an engineer, who worked in Jamshedpur. His mother used to work in England, she returned to India when Dipankar was 10 years old and died after 8 years. Dipankar De has two children from his first marriage. Dipankar Roy and Dolon Roywere in a live-in relationship for many years. The couple got married on 16 January 2020.
