   • In an earlier interaction with this interviewer for her doctoral thesis, Gulzar defined poetry as “binding words together in rhythm”. Poetry, to him, starts where music ends. He said that while metre has been in vogue since the times of Vedas and Purana, poetry has turned more and more individualistic in nature in recent times.
