Amer Shomali was born in Kuwait in 1981 to a family from Beit Sahour, a Palestinian town east of Bethlehem. Shomali earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Birzeit University in 2003, and in 2005 co-founded Zan Studio in Ramallah, a project space for collaborative work in new media and visual arts.
