Bruce Cohn, former manager of the California rock band, The Doobie Brothers, purchased the original area in 1974. He named the property the Olive Hill Estate Vineyards after the grove of 145-year-old olive Picholine Olive trees, from which he continues to make ultra-premium olive oil.

Jul 23, 2015 · After 41 years, Bruce Cohn has agreed to sell his Sonoma Valley winery B.R. Cohn to Vintage Wine Estates. The deal includes the brand and its inventory, a winery licensed by Sonoma County to hold up to 48 events per year, and roughly 70 acres of land, most of it planted with vines and an olive grove.
In 1969, Bruce Cohn began managing a local band called The Doobie Brothers, and the rest, as they say, is history. Bruce continues to manage the now-legendary band to this day. He also used to own this winery which is located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, the winery also produces award winning olive oil.
