His father, William (1899-1951) was a drummer and his two uncles were both musicians (George - trumpet, saxophone and Ernie - guitar). [2] .

BILL LE SAGE. Nick Weldon's interview with Bill. My father was a semi–professional drummer, although his brothers were more active than he was. His brother George played the trumpet and alto saxophone and another brother, Ernie, was a very good guitarist. There was always music going on in the house.
