Salim Abdul Rashid Khan (born 24 November 1935) is an Indian actor, film producer and screenwriter. [1] . He wrote the screenplays, stories and scripts for numerous Bollywood films. Khan is one half of the prolific screenwriting duo of Salim–Javed, along with Javed Akhtar.
Salim Khan’s grandfather’s great-grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan to India and got settled in Indore State, British India, where they used to live at 21, Palasia, Indore. His family served the British Indian army as cavalry for a long time.
His son, actor Salman Khan, has been the prominent face of the family since the 1990s, as one of the biggest Bollywood movie stars in history of Indian cinema. Salim was born in 1935 in Indore in the Central Provinces and Berar in British India.
