Wolfgang Zeller was born on September 12, 1893. After graduating from high school, he studied violin in Munich and composition in Berlin. Zeller was drafted in WWI, but was discharged from duty due to an injury.
The storyline is solid, along with being both beautifully filmed and scored by the master Wolfgang Zeller. It wasn't a common practice in 1932 for a recorded soundtrack to be made available for public purchase. And, Zeller's "Vampyr" score was among the first 2 or 3 other soundtracks of the era.

Aug 22, 2022 · Wolfgang Zeller’s score was thought to be lost, but with the help of Martin Koerber, 85-90% of the score was successfully found. The score manuscript is about one and a half meters thick. Since Zeller had done a lot of changes and improvisations, there were quite a number of challenges in restoring the score.
