Tom Oliver (born 12 June 1938) is a British naturalised Australian retired actor. Oliver is best known locally and internationally for his long-running role in TV soap opera " Neighbours " as Lou Carpenter , a role he played for 25 years becoming one of the longest serving cast members.
Tom Oliver has enjoyed a very successful career in television, spanning 35 years. He is most famous for his long-running role as Lou Carpenter in Neighbours (1985). Tom's character began as a loveable rogue, and a love-rival for the attentions of Harold Bishop's wife Madge.

Lou Carpenter is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Tom Oliver. He made his first screen appearance on 30 March 1988. Oliver appeared for a brief time, having been initially contracted for six months, before leaving and returning in January 1992 as a regular cast member.
