Peter Watkins (born 29 October 1935) is an English film and television director. He was born in Norbiton, Surrey, lived in Sweden, Canada and Lithuania for many years, and now lives in France. He is one of the pioneers of docudrama. His films present pacifist and radical ideas in a nontraditional style.
Peter Watkins is a British filmmaker who specializes in documentary-style dramas. He won an Oscar for The War Game (1966), a banned anti-nuclear film, and made other controversial works such as Privilege (1967) and La Commune (Paris, 1871) (2000).
