Antonio "Tonino" Guerra (16 March 1920 – 21 March 2012) was an Italian poet, writer and screenwriter who collaborated with some of the most prominent film directors in the world such as Andrei Tarkovsky, Michelangelo Antonioni, Theo Angelopoulos, and Federico Fellini.
Tonino Guerra is a poet and one of busiest and the most important screenwriters of cinema who won Cannes Film Festival's Best Screenplay award for the "Voyage to Cythera" by Theo Angelopoulos and received an honorary award of the Venice Film Festival.

TONINO GUERRA, internationally renowned poet, screenplay writer and artist, was born on March 16, 1920 in Santarcangelo di Romagna, where he passed away on March 21, 2012 aged 92. The youngest of four children, Tonino was the son of a fishmonger father and an illiterate mother (whom he would later teach to read and write).
