Asawari finds life more than what meets the eye. On a mission to bring more south asian non binary, trans, intersex, gender diverse and women representation in the forefront of our current visual culture, Asawari wants to capture the essence of what contemporary India could look like.

Founded in 2019 by Asawari Jagushte and Varsha Panikar, Star Hopper was born out of the need to create a film culture, a space, a new digital landscape for filmmakers, technicians and talent from South Asian LGBTQIA++ and underrepresented communities to thrive and flourish.
Asawari is an independent filmmaker based in Mumbai, currently a co-founder of a content creation company called Anat that specializes in making space for women, non-binary and transgender voices in India.
