Paul John Hogan (born 30 November 1962) is an Australian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing Muriel's Wedding (1994), My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), Peter Pan (2003) and Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009).

Biography. Born in Brisbane, P.J. Hogan lived on the New South Wales north coast as a teenager, attending Mount Saint Patrick College in Murwillumbah, New South Wales. In 1984, he graduated from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School with a Graduate Diploma: Screenwriting.
