Thomas H. Schulman (born October 20, 1951) is an American screenwriter best known for his semi-autobiographical screenplay Dead Poets Society, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1989.

He studied at the USC Graduate School of Cinema, the Actors and Directors Lab with Jack Garfein, and more recently with director Joan Darling. He directed the Actors' Studio, West production of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker.
