Jean-Jacques Mantello is one of France's digital video pioneers. He directed the first underwater 3D movie ever made, Miracle Mermaid , in 1990. This movie received the 1992 Palme d'Or du Public (Gold Award) at the 25th World Festival of Underwater Pictures (Festival Mondial de l'Image Sous-marine) in Antibes, France.
