The Hive ( French: La Ruche) is a 2021 drama film written and directed by Christophe Hermans. The story is based on the 2013 novel La Ruche by Arthur Loustalot. The film focuses on the relationship between Alice ( Ludivine Sagnier ), a mother, and her three daughters.
Christophe Hermans’s feature film debut La ruche managed to attract Ludivine Sagnier ( Femmes , Swimming Pool) for the role of the mother, slowly succumbing to a bipolar episode. Forthright, emotionally convincing acting reveals how she drags her daughters down with her – the youngest played by Sagnier’s own daughter.
