Sarnath is one of the four most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, the other three being Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, and Kushinagar. The temple complex houses several stupas, excavated ruins of ancient monasteries, and the Ashoka Pillar, which is a testimony to India's glorious past.
