Shiv Kumar Batalvi was a poet of passion, agony and separation. He was the youngest one to receive Sahtiya Akademi Award in 1957 for writing Puran Bhagat, Loona, a verse play. Shiv Kumar batalvi is considered as the John Keats of Punjabi poetic tradition.
