Welham Girls' School is an all girls residential school affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, an all-India Board. The School has classes from VI to XII.
14½ - 16 Years. Class Pre SC (Class 11) 15½ - 17 Years. Class SC (Class 12) 16½ - 18 Years. Admissions are offered in Classes VI, VII and XI only, subject to the availability of seats. The lower age limit for admission in the school is 10½ on 1st April of the year of joining the School in Class VI.

Everything begins with a dream. In 1957, an ageing English lady, Miss H. S. Oliphant, fired by the desire to create an equal educational platform for young Indian women in independent India, acquired a Nawab’s estate in Dehradun to give shape to her dream.
OVERVIEW. The school is affiliated to two boards: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi which is an all-India Board and the Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE) which is an International Board. The school offers classes from Grades VI to XII.
THE FACULTY. The great strength of the school lies in its experienced and motivated teachers. The School is also committed to Staff Development through a wide range of on-going in-service programmes and workshops.
The school was founded by Hersilia Susie Oliphant, who had previously set up Welham Boys' School. She named the schools after her home village of Welham, Nottinghamshire in the United Kingdom. She acquired a palatial estate called Nasreen adjacent to the boys' school to start a small boarding school for girls.

Welham Girls School Dehradun, is a Senior Secondary School (XI-XII), affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The School is a Girls Boarding School, with classes from VI to XII.
Scholarships. The school offers several Scholarships each year to deserving students studying in Welham Girls’ School. Scholarships are available on applications received from the parents and are decided on the basis of means cum merit.
