Feb 11, 2020 · Arthur Phillips, best known for his excellent debut novel Prague, hasn’t written the masterpiece that Mantel has, but The King at the Edge of the World is very good, a richly detailed, and entertaining story of intrigue. Phillips is an excellent writer, an intelligent, thoughtful author and, as the Washington Post pointed out, one of America’s best.
