  3. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute located in Shimla, India. It was set up by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 1964 and started functioning from 20 October 1965. It is currently housed in the Rashtrapati Niwas.

  4. The Library supports the research programs of IIAS through collections, technology and services which enable Fellows, Visiting Scholars and Associates to access knowledge and information resources in all formats.

  9. Academics. Fellows form the core academic community of the Institute. The Institute hosts three categories of Fellows—National Fellows, Fellows and Tagore Fellows. The term of fellowship for all three categories is for 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years.
