The first time I watched the film, back in October, when it released in theatres in Bengal, I remember being so deeply affected by it that I couldn’t sleep the whole night.
Rajkahini references the pitiless instances happening over the state due to the partition. People's lives are becoming a muddle and they are made to detriment. In the interim, a group of prostitutes from that very brothel stand against the entire barrier and held their heads high with superiority.
Rajkahini attends a bit longer to the wounds that form a black layer on the ground, one that will be washed away and buried deep under the pillars of nationhood. Yet, these stories exist.
