The Imitation Game is a 2014 American historical drama thriller film directed by Morten Tyldum, with a screenplay by Graham Moore loosely based on the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges (previously adapted as the stage play and BBC drama Breaking the Code).
This experiment was inspired by Alan Turing's Imitation Game (or Turing Test). He originally proposed it as a way to judge a machine's ability to show human-like behaviour. The original game used text-based responses, whereas this experiment generates emotional ones.
