William V, Prince of Wied ( German: Wilhelm Adolph Maximilian Karl Fürst von Wied; 22 August 1845 – 22 October 1907) was a German army officer and politician, elder son of Hermann, Prince of Wied. He was the father of William, Prince of Albania and brother of Queen Elisabeth of Romania. By birth he was a member of the House of Wied .

Elisabeth of Wied was the daughter of the Prince of Wied and the Princess of Nassau. She held several titles, the most prominent of which being the queen consort of Romania. She became interested in the arts at a young age and mastered several languages, as well as musical instruments and poetry. She became queen of Romania in 1881.
The House of Wied-Neuwied briefly ruled the Principality of Albania in 1914 through William of Albania, the younger son of Prince William.
