He got the degree in business administration from Vellaichamy Nadar College (Madurai). At the age of 20, he started making involvement in the films through his uncle (Kandasaamy) who was the producer of the movie 'Sethu" released in 1999.

Sasikumar cast then relatively new actors Jai, Swathi, Samuthirakani, Ganja Karuppu, and himself in pivotal roles. The film also marked Swathi Reddy’s Tamil film debut.
