For the first time ever, men were permitted to compete in artistic swimming at the Olympics as part of the team competition. Unfortunately, no men were selected to compete for any of the ten participating nations. That included 45-year-old artistic swimming legend Bill May, who narrowly missed out on selection to the U.S. team.
The team event at the 2024 Summer Olympics is being held from 5 to 7 August 2024 at the Paris Aquatic Centre. On 7 October 2022, World Aquatics (then FINA) voted to amend the artistic swimming rules for allow for an eight-member mixed team (previously a women-only team event) with a maximum number of two males in the team.

Feb 12, 2024 · Two artistic swimming competitions will feature on the Paris 2024 Olympics programme: Team and Duet. The artistic swimming events will take place between 5-10 August in the Aquatics Centre, a facility that will also host the diving and water polo competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Jul 11, 2023 · Artistic swimming has a long-tradition on the Olympic programme, debuting at Los Angeles 1984. Since Sydney 2000, the format hasn't changed – even though the name has, from synchronised swimming to its current iteration in 2017 – with artistic swimmers competing in two different events, women’s duet and women’s team, with a set of medals on offer in each.
