Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science and Commerce was founded in 1937 by Dr B R Ambedkar. The institution, also known as Guru Nanak Khalsa College or Khalsa College Mumbai, received recognition from the University Grants Commission in 1974. Additionally, the UGC has acknowledged the GN Khalsa College Mumbai as a Potential for Excellence.
Guru Nanak College was established in 1971 to commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Devji - the founder of the Sikh religion, by the Guru Nanak Educational Society (GNES).
