Pompano Beach (/ ˈ p ɒ m p ən oʊ / POM-pə-noh) is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is located along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, just north of Fort Lauderdale and 36 miles north of Miami. The nearby Hillsboro Inlet forms part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

Pompano beach is a great place. It is a little less congested than other nearby towns and has a great offering of places to eat and things to do. The town offers a free shuttle service that is tremendous called the circuit. There are fewer high rise buildings than other nearby beach towns. The beach is beautiful.
Pompano Beach is located where the Gulf Stream bends making the ocean waters clear and warm, right between Hillsboro Beach and Fort Lauderdale beach. The warmer waters make for an abundance of pompano, the inshore tropical game fish from which the beach gets its name.
