Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) is a semi-urban university, located in Surat, Gujrat. The university has been accredited by NAAC with a ‘B++’ grade. The university has 34 Government, 60 Grant-in-aid, and 285 Self-financed Colleges, and 100 Post-graduate Teaching Centres attached to affiliated colleges.
VNSGU is the first university in India to offer postgraduate courses in rural studies. In 2004, it was renamed as Veer Narmad South Gujarat University after the Gujarat poet Veer Narmad whose real name was Narmadshankar Labhshankar Dave.

Jun 19, 2024 · At UG level, VNSGU offers BA, B.Sc, BPA, B.Lib & B.Ed programs in different specializations. For BFA and BID programs, the university grants admission through Fine Arts Admission Test and Interior Design Test respectively.
About Us. History. The need of the region comprising South Gujarat to have a separate university was voiced initially by educationists such as Atisukhshankar Trivedi who through public speeches and writings created awareness and gained support for this demand.
