His career started in Bollywood as an actor, playing minuscule roles in movies such as “Taqdeer” (1967) and “Aradhana” (1971). In Umang and Gumraah, he played the male lead role. In 1982, he launched ‘Mukta Arts’, his film production company and has produced many movies under its banner since then.
