In 1988 full-time M.Phil course and Post-Graduate Diploma course on Medical Lab Technology was started. M.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology and M.Sc in Biomedical Instrumentation Science were started in 2003 and 2004 respectively. In the academic year 2005-06, the University of Madras granted affiliation to B.Sc Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology.
