Oct 10, 2018 · The Bombay High Court on Wednesday quashed a molestation case filed by actor Preity Zinta against industrialist Ness Wadia during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in 2014. A division bench of Justice Ranjit More and Justice Bharati H Dangre, which was hearing a petition filed by Wadia seeking quashing of the FIR, had asked Zinta and the industrialist to appear before the court on Wednesday for the verdict.

Preity Zinta gave a written complaint on June 12 following which an FIR was registered against Ness Wadia under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), police sources added.
On 13 June 2014, Zinta filed a complaint with the Mumbai police against Ness Wadia alleging he had molested, threatened, and abused her at an IPL match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 30 May. Wadia denied the allegations. In 2018, the Bombay High Court quashed this complaint after the issue was amicably settled.
