Shabnam Ali and Saleem. Verdict. Guilty. Amroha murder case refers to an April 2008 familicide in of Uttar Pradesh, India, by Shabnam Ali and her lover Saleem, who murdered seven members of Shabnam Ali's family by sedating six of them and then hacking them to death; the seventh victim, a ten-month-old baby was murdered unsedated. Shabnam grew up watching her father play cricket and developed an interest in fast bowling when she was too young; her father was a fast pacer who played club cricket. At the age of eight, her father enrolled her at the NAD Academy in Visakhapatnam for training in cricket. At the academy, Shabnam was trained by coach Nagaraju.
