Jhamu Sughand started his professional career in his home town of Deolali (in the Indian state of Maharashtra), by joining the family business of cloth trading. Always an ardent film buff, he, however, chose to move to Mumbai, to heed to his true calling of being associated with the film business in 1979.
Apne (2007) Co-produced by Rahul Sughand. This is the first and one of the three films to feature real life father and sons Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol together. Kiron Kher, Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif play the female leads. The film opened to an excellent response across India and emerged as a hit overseas as well.
