Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar (then Rifleman), a resident of Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh, was bom on 03 March 1976 to Durga Ram and Bhag Devi. After completing his schooling in Bilaspur, he moved to Delhi. On 26 June 1996, he joined the Indian Army and was posted to 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (JAK RIF).
