Charles Lutwidge Dodgson ( / ˈlʌtwɪdʒ ˈdɒdsən / LUT-wij DOD-sən; 27 January 1832 – 14 January 1898), better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician and photographer.
