The University of Chester has six campuses and a University Centre in Shrewsbury. The 32-acre (130,000 m 2) Parkgate Road Campus, Chester, [16] is located on Parkgate Road, just north of the City Walls.
The University of Chester is one of the oldest higher education providers in the UK, having recently celebrated its 182nd year of teaching. With 15,000 students from 130 countries worldwide, Chester provides a vibrant, diverse and safe home for those travelling from overseas to study.
The University of Chester is the fifth oldest higher education establishment in England, with only the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and London outdating it. It was opened in 1839 as a Church of England training college by a group of local Anglicans, including future British prime minister William Gladstone.
