Elstree is a successful independent day and boarding Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School for children aged 3-13 in Woolhampton, Berkshire.
At Elstree, our aim is two-fold. Firstly we wish to find out how a child is intelligent rather than how intelligent a child is. This broad and holistic approach fits into our ethos that we wish to find, nurture and develop talent and prepare children for senior school education and life beyond.
Elstree School is an English preparatory school for children aged 3–13 at Woolhampton House in Woolhampton, near Newbury in the English county of Berkshire. The school is co-educational.
Elstree is a co-educational Berkshire school. The move to becoming fully co-educational this September has been a resounding success, with a total of 31 girls in the whole school, including 14 in the Prep.
From September 2020, Elstree became a fully co-educational school, welcoming girls alongside boys. Both can now receive an Elstree education from the age of 3 (Nursery), all the way through to 13 (Year 8).

Elstree School was founded in 1848. With the outbreak of war in 1939, staff and 70 boys moved to Woolhampton House in Berkshire. This fine Georgian house, standing in a 150-acre estate of green parkland and lawns, proved so ideal that Woolhampton House became Elstree’s permanent home at the end of the war, where the School remains today.

Set in 150 acres of stunning parkland in rural West Berkshire, Elstree welcomes boys and girls aged 3-13 years. From Year 4 onwards, pupils can choose to flexi or weekly board. At Elstree, we are academically ambitious and provide a first class all-round education.
