The 4-Week Secondary School Program (SSP) is an immersive, for-credit experience offered in a residential only format. You will choose one accelerated course from our approximately 20 4-Week course offerings. Students benefit from small classes with guest speakers who will bring subjects such as business, medicine, or journalism to life.

History. Harvard Summer School was founded in 1871. It is the first academic summer session established and the oldest summer school present in the United States. The Summer School is part of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences and is one of the principal programs within the Harvard Division of Continuing Education.
