Oct 14, 2004 · MUMBAI: Veteran actress Nirupa Roy, the quintessential mother of Bollywood who acted in blockbusters like Deewar and Amar Akbar and Anthony, died here last night following a cardiac arrest. Ms Roy, 73, who acted in over 190 films in her career spanning over five decades, suffered a heart attack at her residence after she had her dinner and collapsed, family members said.
