The Andhra premier league (APL) is the brainchild of Sri P. Sarath Chandra Reddy, President of the Andhra Cricket Association. The main drive for conducting this league is to provide an opportunity for the local Andhra cricketers to showcase their talent on a national visual platform.
The organizing committee also considered the suggestion of its President about changing the name of the Association from “CRICKET ASSOCIATION OF ANDHRA “to “THE ANDHRA CRICKET ASSOCIATION”. The new emblem with “POORNAKUMBHAM” in centre, encircled by Dharma Chakra Surrounded by lotus leaves with the letters “ ANDHRA CRICKET ASSOCIATION” written underneath, it has been approved.
