Randolph Scott's presence in Westerns was as steady as a mountain and just as tough. He even looked like a statue carved from granite or aged wood. Moral and fair yet dynamic and unflinching - his on screen persona was one of the safest pairs of hands in the genre. Some say John Wayne, others - Clint Eastwood, but for me - Randolph Scott was the best and most watchable Western movie star of them all.
