Grammarly misses the subtle differences in spellings between the languages. I reverted back to 'merican English cuz it was just too frustrating, and I just use Grammarly for sentence structure and grammar. And for picking out my knack for still being unable to tell the difference between "its" and "it's". Gesh...

Grammarly certainly is AI, there is no denying that, but it is far less sophisticated than GPT, which is likely what the university is out after. Even microsoft word uses some level of AI in its detection of languages, or grammar. The term AI has become such a buzzword that it has lost much of its meaning.

Dunno if a personal perspective helps, but: Last semester I was in a neuropsych class with a lot of small papers (just 1-3 page responses, with a final 5-6 pg paper).
