Since its inception, the planetarium has kept in pace with the latest technological advances in the production of planetarium shows. The Planetarium of Nehru Centre was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi on 3 rd March 1977 with the objective of fostering scientific temper through the means of edutainment (that’s right! education + entertainment). Since its very first sky show, the planetarium has been making learning Astronomy a pleasant experience.

Nehru Centre science laboratory situated in the basement of the planetarium is equipped to conduct science experiments prescribed for the students of standard VIII, IX, and X in their textbooks.
The Planetarium is closed on all Mondays. Offline tickets will be available at the Booking counter. Only 131 seats are available for online booking and 350 seats are available at the ticket window.
